Computer security

Hi friends!! we have just done a work about computer security, here I leave you a little summary!!

Computer security is a discipline which is in charge of protecting the integrity and the security of the stored information in a computer system. Anyway, it doesn´t exist a technique which provides us a impregnable security. Types: phisical, logical and human
A malware it’s any software that can produce any bad connotations in your computer (erase or steal data, break parts of it…) and a virus is a program made to install in a computer which belongs to other person, without he or she consent, and then this malware modify the operating of the machine, or it erase information.
To protect your computer from these measures, you have lots of free softwares such as antivirus, well, just some of them, because in general, you have two types of software, Free software, the ones which you can get free, and you can defund and change wherever you want, and proprietary licensed, the ones you must pay to get, and you can change them at all, let´s start explaining what an antivirus is:
An antivirus is an informatic program which objective is to find and eliminate virus in a computer. They were invented in the 80’s. Basically, an antivirus compares the code of all your archives with the codes of the famous virus, so it’s very important to actualize your antivirus code bank often, but also is important to have a firewall and spam filtres
The types of encryption are WPA and WP2, they are some kinds of security systems for wireless networks. They were created in response to the serious problems and weaknesses found in the previous security system called WEP.
The WPA is implemented in most of the 802.11i standard, and was designed to work with all wireless network cards and for use in IEEE 802.11X authentication server, which distributes different passwords for each user. It was created by the Wi-Fi Alliance, owners of the brand called Wi-Fi.

So finally, Internet is very usefull, It´s a necessary tool now a days, but be carefull, it´s also dangerus.

Most famous virus of the history:

1. Creeper. This is the first virus of the history. It was born in 1971. One of the features of Creeper is showing a message that infected the system and say, "I am the most terrifying (creeper), catch me if you can". It was created by Robert Thomas Morris. Thanks to this virus,  was created to eliminate it the Reaper program.
2. Melissa. This virus was the first to be sent by email in 1999. Although not as destructive, managed to spread and infect millions of users.
3. I love you. A thesis project submitted by a young Filipino 24 years, which was rejected in college, turned out to be a virus capable of infecting more than 45 million computers, costing more than 10 billion dollars. The program, which was created in 2000, sent an email that in his case showed the words 'I love you' (I love you) and was accompanied by an attachment named 'A love letter for you.' When you run the file, which in theory was a text document, the virus is resent to all user's contacts list.
4. Sasser:  Between April and May 2004, this plague computer alerted over a company by its high degree of danger because, to infect the computer, it was not necessary that the user opened a file.
5. Code Red:  this worm spreads by networks without email or a website.
6. Storm. In January 2007, users in Europe and the United States began receiving emails related to a storm (storm) that affected the European continent. The message had an attachment that infected the computer and immediately became part of a botnet, so they began to send and receive commands by its creator.
7. Slammer. This virus caused many Internet servers to your users show no service or caused excessive slowness of the Network
8. Concept. It is known as the first macro virus, it was included in Microsoft Word macro program. Born in 1995 and distributed through infected attachments, the user cueales did not know they had the virus. When the person receiving the attachment is infected just by opening the file on your computer and using Word.
9. Netsky. It is a family of viruses, viruses Netsky family became famous because they showed insulting messages alluding to the authors of the Bagle virus families and MyDoom and, in some cases, certain actions had eliminated the latter. From this came off a 'war' of virus.
10. Conficker. It is one of the latest virus, first detected in November 2008. The virus attacked a vulnerability in the Windows operating system.

VideoPad is a video editing application developed by NCH Software for home and professional market. The program is complemented by the VirtualDub plug-ins that work with the software.
VideoPad is part of a package that integrates with other software created by NCH Software. This software includes WavePad, a sound editing program; MixPad, a good mix and PhotoPad program, an image editor.
VideoPad The interface consists of a menu bar at the top of the window that has pull-down menus in the headings, File, Edit and Help, under which you can modify the settings and save the projects in which we are working. Under  this menu bar arethere are lots of  adding icons such like, capture material, Narrating Insert blank, Subtitles, Preview, Save Movie, Options, Buy Online (limited to trial), and Help.
There is a section below and to the left of the list of media effects, transitions, overlay and tabs. The Media List tab allows the user to select a media that have been imported and see it from here can be added to the following timeline / storyboard through a simple 'Add' button simulated by a green arrow pointing below and also through a resistor 'and drop "feature. To the right of this section is an area from the reproduction timeline. Below these is the area where clips can be rearranged, transitions can be effects and effects added. There are two soundtracks available for use where just drag the audio file through the line soundtrack to add.
This program has seemed comfortable, useful and simple truth is that there are better programmes, such as Sony Vegas, but the truth is starting to go that is fine, I recommend using it. To make my video it  took me about two days to  conect all the recordings.

How to work in Prezi

Hi bloggers!! during this term we have learn a lot about networks. We have also learn how to use prezi, because we have done a presentation about wireless networks.

Prezi is a tool to create dynamic presentations, they are nonlineal, just the opposite from power point. We define where we want to move and place the items inside a large white canvas .We can make objects large, or make them small, approach them, put some text, images, videos, etc..
You don’t need to install anything if you do not want to. Prezi is in "the cloud." We can make the presentations online, but you can also download them.
Prezi gives you lots of options to enrich your work, for example:

-INSERT:  you can upload images, from our computer or from the web. Image types: jpg, png, gif, pdf or swf. We insert from our PC files: video, ppt, pdf ... The file cant be larger than 50MB.

-SHAPES, is another level, you can insert arrows, drawingsfree, etc. .. The fluorescent allows us to highlight a word or phrase.

-FRAME. We use it to enclose a group of ideas. It helps us to define sets of ideas, with brackets, loops, prominent, etc. we can improve navigation.

- PATH. Here we set the order of the items  in thepresentation. Sequenced with 1,2,3 ... we can change the order as we want to.

-COLORS & FONTS. They relate to the templates. There is a wizard (Theme Wizard), which helps us to customize the colors and fonts templates we have.

Anyway, here you have a presentation from official prezi webpage that explain you how to use it:

PAN: personal area networks, it comunicates devices that are close bewteen them.
LAN: local area networks, a small area, like a higschool ot a endeavour.
MAN: Metropolitan area networks, a city
WAN: wide area metworks, they conect cities and countrys in diferent continents.
IP: an IP address is a numerical label that identifies an interface.
MAC: it identifies a device in a network.
ROUTER: they are the devices that conect several computer networks.
HUB: they are devices thar recives informatión and they they pass it to another computers, usually more than one.
SWICH: they are similar to HUBs, but in this case they just send the information to the computers witch the sender computer want to.
VPN: virtual private network, they cifrate personal data, like credit cards codes, adresses, pastwords etc...
OSI: open systems interconnect, it´s the protocol were the internet is bassed on.
